The Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (ACT 514) makes it mandatory for FKE to provide and maintain a safe and healthy environment for all employees, students and visitors. Therefore, in compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994, its regulations and statutes, plus all policies, rules, or instructions issued by the University,

The Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (ACT 514) makes it mandatory for FKE to provide and maintain a safe and healthy environment for all employees, students and visitors. The Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FKE) Safety and Health policy is in compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994, its regulations and statutes, including all policies, rules, or regulations issued by University Technology MARA.

1.Dean, Deputy Deans, Members of the Staffs of the faculty are responsible for the safety of employees/ colleagues, students and visitors working and studying within their areas of jurisdiction and for compliance with statutory and university requirements;
2. Both the employer and all employees are responsible jointly for compliance and enforcement of the rules and regulations and to take appropriate steps to prevent any accidents, occupational illnesses, injuries, or adverse effects upon the natural environment;
3. Employees have a duty to comply with statutory requirements and with a supervisor's instructions, work safely and report all unsafe and unhealthy conditions, not only in the interests of their own health and safety, but that of other employees, students and visitors;
4. Identify Hazard, Assess Risk and Control Risks as measures to ensure safety and health to all at FKE;
5. As reasonably practical, FKE will take efforts to acquire information, training and supervision on Occupational Safety and Health Act, 1994 and its Regulations, plus other statutes and their regulations, and all university rules, or instructions that pertain to the health and safety of the work environment;
6. FKE will take initiative to create awareness of Occupational Safety & Health Act 1994 to staffs and students through various methods such as induction, lectures and safety programmes;
7. FKE will continuously engage with safety organizations and professionals, as means for continuous development, hence revising and updating the safety policy in line with the latest changes in technology, work procedures and legal requirements.
